first Blog

wow, okay so this is my first ever foray into the world of blogging. I never thought i would be calling myself a blogger...hmmm thats an interesting term, does that mean a person written about in a blog is a blogee??

i thought i would start with an aim for my blogging adventure, so that i can look back in a year or so (hopefully with more than just this starting blog to offer) and see whether or not i have achieved it. I have always wanted to write a journal, especially since the birth of my beautiful daughter Elianna. I want to make a record of the daily delights she brings to my life. It is possibly a testament to my powers of procrastination that she is now 14.5 months and i am only now starting to do something about writing down some of things she is doing, saying and how she makes my life better in every way. but better late than never right? (Is it true that you shouldn't begin a sentence with the word But? I have never been very good with grammar)

While being a mother is a wonderfully huge part of my life i am also married (3.5 years and going strong) to the most wonderful man in the world, who would do anything for me, as i would him. He is my anchor, my sounding board, my best friend and my voice of reason. Every day we spend together i am amazed that he chose me to love and do life with (and i do mean chose, i believe that love is a choice that can sometimes be hard and sometimes be easy but always requires an active decision to look upon someone with affection, even when they are being frustrating, and trust them with your heart). We are committed to growing and strengthening our marriage each and every day, week, month and year, determined to escape the pitfalls we have so often witnessed in other marriages, including both of our parents'.

i am also a student and a scientist. i hope to never stop learning as this world is endless in its fascinating secrets. i started uni in 2001, doing a bachelor of science (aviation), and i HAD A BALL!! The three years of my first degree were about discovering my independance, learning who i was and what it meant to be me and making some awesome friends who taught me a lot a long the way. i partied too hard, drank too much and didn't attend class nearly enough but still, somehow managed to pass (sometimes just barely) every course and graduate in ceremonious style in 2004.
